8 oz bacon, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup vinegar
3/4 cup water, divided
1/4 tsp salt and white pepper
1 small onion, diced
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch

Saute bacon in skillet until fully cooked. Drain off grease, reserving 1/4 cup in pan along with bacon. Add vinegar, 1/2 cup water, salt, pepper, onion and sugar. Simmer until onions are tender. Combine cornstarch and remaining 1/4 cup water in a small bowl. Add to dressing and cook until thickened.
