1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
1 tsp grated orange rind
2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
1 can cherry pie filling
1 tsp almond extract

Beat first 3 ingredients until smooth and fluffy. Fold in whipped topping and nuts. Spoon mixture onto a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet, making 16 portions.

Using the back of a spoon, indent the center of each portion to form a shell. Freeze 2 hours or overnight.

In a small bowl, combine pie filling and extract; mix well. Refrigerate, covered, until ready to serve. At serving time, spoon equal portions of filling into shells. Serves immediately.

NOTE: Shells can be kept in freezer 2-4 weeks. After they are firmly frozen, place in a covered container with waxed paper between each layer.
