1/3 lb ground veal, ground beef and ground pork
1/2 cup finely diced yellow onion
olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1/8 cup fresh oregano and basil leaves chopped fine
4 slices provolone
1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
4 hamburger size focaccia rolls
1 cup spaghetti sauce
1 1/2 cups diced mushrooms
2 tbsp butter
First, saute onions with enough olive oil to cover bottom of saucepan on medium heat for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Then mix all meat, garlic, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper well. Add onions and mix well.
Next, saute mushrooms in butter on medium heat with 1/4 tsp salt for 10 minutes. Then set aside.
Form 4 (1/4 lb) burgers and grill to desired doneness. Top each burger with 1/4 of fresh basil and oregano. Place 1/4 of the parmesan and a slice of provolone on each burger. Place burgers on rolls and top with sauteed mushrooms and spaghetti sauce.
