1 quart oysters
1/2 cup (more or less) oyster liqueur
1/2 to 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
Salt and pepper

Drain oysters, reserving liqueur. Wash oysters under running water and drain in colander. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Add enough of the oyster liqueur to make a fairly thick batter. Stir in oysters. Dip oysters using a fork and fry in hot oil until golden brown on each side.
