2 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
1/4 tsp Salt and pepper, to taste
2 eggs
1/2 tsp brandy and rum extracts

Sugar Mixture
1/4 colored sugar or plain sugar
1 tsp nutmeg

Preheat oven to 400. In a mixing bowl, combine all cookie ingredients and beat at low speed, scraping sides of bowl often, until well mixed.

In a small bowl, combine sugar mixture; stir to blend. Shape rounded tspful of dough into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on pat for a minute before taking cookies off of pan and onto rack to cool.
