CHERRY CAKE DESSERT

1 angel food cake or pound cake, cut into bite-size pieces
1 cup whipped topping
1(8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup chocolate baking chips
2 tbsp water
1(20 oz) can cherry pie filling

Combine whippd topping and cream cheese in a food processor, and pulse until creamy and smooth. Combine chocolate chips and water in a measuring cup, and microwave on high for 30 to 45 seconds. Whisk with a fork or small whisk until creamy and smooth.

Pour chocolate over the cream cheese mixture in food processor, and pulse until creamy and smooth. Pour cheese mixture over the cake pieces, add cherry pie filling, and gently fold all ingredients together.

Spread mixture evenly in a 9x13" baking dish. Place the dessert in the refrigerator until ready to serve. To serve: Drizzle Hershey's chocolate syrup into individual stemmed sherbet glasses, spoon cherry dessert into glass, top with a dollop of Cool Whip, sliced almonds, and a cherry. Garnish with mint, if you wish.
