1/4 lb butter, room temperature
1/2 lb grated cheddar cheese, room temperature
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour
1/2 pkg onion soup mix

Mix together butter and cheese. Add flour gradually. Add remaining ingredients and blend. Roll into 2 to 3 logs, 1 inch in diameter. Roll in wax paper and chill. Slice approximately 1/4 inch thick and bake at 375 on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
