TACO DIP - MEATLESS

16 oz sour cream
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded Monterey jack cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup taco plus 3 tbsp taco sauce
Jalapeno pepper slices, optional

Blend sour cream and cream cheese in a food processor until smooth but not runny. Pour into an 8 inch square pan. Drizzle 1/2 cup taco sauce over the cream cheese. Layer with lettuce, tomatoes and then cheese. Drizzle remaining 3 tbsp sauce over cheese. Garnish with jalapeno peppers. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with tortilla chips.
