1 (3 lb) head cabbage, cut into small pieces
3 tbsp butter and flour
3 cups milk
1 cup grated cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste

In a pan, cook cabbage in salted water. Drain well. While cabbage is cooking, make a sauce by melting butter in a saucepan. Add flour and stir until smooth. Add milk, salt and pepper and cook until thickened. Place cabbage and sauce in a buttered casserole. Sprinkle with bread or cracker crumbs. Dot with butter. Bake at 375, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
