1 tablespoon oil
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
3 tablespoon packed dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cupsw balsamic vinegar

Heat oil in skillet
add onion, sugar ,salt, and pepper and cook until onion is soft..about 3 minutes
add vinegar and bring to a boil
reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, until vinegar has a syrupy consistency and has reduce to 1 cup. About 30 min

Great on pork,chicken breasts,as a glaze and good on most vegetables
