Serves/Makes: 6
Ready in: > 5 hrs

***Tea***

  • 6 cups cold water
  • 1/3 cup loose tea
  • OR
  • 5 tea bags
  • ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup (see below)
  • 6 lemon slices

***Simple Syrup***

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water

For Tea: Combine water and tea; let stand, covered, overnight.

Strain and pour into glasses, adding ice cubes, about 1 tsp. Simple Syrup and 1 lemon slice per glass. Stir, bruising the lemon slice so it flavors the tea.

Iced tea is a wonderful summer drink, and easy if you simply steep the tea in cold water overnight. Please don\'t refrigerate, as chilling makes tea cloudy.

For Simple Syrup: Combine sugar and water in saucepan and bring to boil; boil for 2 minutes. Pour into clean jar and store in refrigerator.
