Category: Hot Drinks
Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

Serves/Makes: 2
Difficulty: 1
Prep/Cook Time: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

Drink:
Juice of 1 orange
Juice of 1 lemon
3/4 cup Just Black Cherry Juice (recommend Knudsen)
2 ounces Cherry Pie Liqueur (or other cherry liqueur)
2 ounces white rum
2 ounces orange simple syrup
1 1/2 inch slice of orange, cut in half
1 1/2 inch slice of lemon, cur in half

Orange Simple Syrup:
Juice of 1 orange
water
1 cup white sugar

Preparation:

For Simple Syrup - In a small sauce pan combine sugar, juice of 1 orange and enough water when added to orange juice to make 1 cup. Over med-low heat stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat to cool. Store this in a airtight container (I use squeezy bottles) in the refrigerator.

For Drink - In a sauce pan combine juice of 1 orange, lemon juice, Black Cherry juice, cherry pie liqueur, white rum and 2 ounces of the orange simple syrup. Over medium heat stir until hot.

Put a half slice of orange and lemon in each clear Irish coffee mug and fill with hot mixture.

Cooks Notes - It was really chilly and rainy this evening and I was staring at a very expensive jar of Black Cherry Juice. It is a good one that is not watered down. I wanted some but needed something to warm me up. We eat cherries hot in pie and my husband had found out by accident that the Cherry Pie Liqueur is awesome heated up by itself, so I came up with this and the color was so beautiful and sexy that it became the Red Hot Mama!
