- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon five spice powder
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh grated ginger root
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Combine all the ingredients in a glass bowl and whisk well to combine. Use immediately or store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Use as a basting sauce while cooking beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp.
