Chicken Pie

2 to 2 1/2 lb chicken fryer
1/2 cup butter
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup milk
1 can cream of celery soup
2 cup chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste

In a large pot, put chicken with 1 1/2 to 2 cups water and salt. Cook covered until tender (where the chicken pulls away from the bones). Cut into 2 to 2 1/2 inch strips. Preheat oven to 350 F. Place chicken in bottom of 9x13 inch. Melt butter and pour over chicken. In a separate bowl, mix milk and flour with a whisk. Pour over chicken. Heat soup and broth (from the pot in which you cooked the chicken) to boiling. Pour into pan. Bake for 45 minutes. Makes its own crust.
