Beef stew

Serves 6
1 lb beef stew meat
2 Tbsp all purpose flour
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
2 large can crushed tomatoes
4 small cans of tomato sauce
2 small white onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 large potatoes
8 medium carrots
1 (6 oz) frozen yellow corn
1 (6 oz) frozen green peas
1 (6 oz) frozen green beans
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 bay leaf
Coat beef stew meat in flour and brown in vegetable oil. Drain.
Place canned tomatoes and tomato sauce in a large stock pot. Add stew meat. Peel and dice onions and garlic. Add to pot. Peel and cut potatoes into cubes. Add to pot. Peel and slice carrots into medium slices. Add to pot. Add frozen vegetables to pot. Fill pot with water to the top. Add beef bouillon cubes, bay leaf, salt and pepper.
Bring beef stew to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer slowly for 1 1/2 hours. Check that beef stew is done by meat and potatoes being tender. Remove bay leaf and serve.
