Serves 12

1 1/2 cup butter, softened
8 oz cream cheese, softened
3 cup sugar
6 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cup sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
Confectioners sugar (optional)

Cream butter and cream cheese in mixer bowl until fluffy. Add sugar; beat until light. Blend in eggs 1 at a time. Add vanilla. Add flour and salt; mix well.
Spoon into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan or 12-cup bundt pan. Bake at 325 F for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Dust with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
