Egg biscuits

Makes 8 biscuits

Combine 2 cup all purpose flour, 2 tsp sugar, 2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in 2 Tbsp butter or margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Beat together 1 egg and 3/4 cup milk; add to flour mixture, stirring until flour is moistened. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface; knead gently and pat or roll into a 12x6-inch rectangle. Cut into 8 squares. Put on lightly greased baking sheet.

NOTE: Dough may be cut with a 3 3/4 inch biscuit cutter.
