Green Tomato Mincemeat

6 cups chopped apples
6 cups chopped green tomatoes (14 tom=2 ½ lbs=6cups)
4 c. brown sugar
1 1/3 c. vinegar
3 c. raisins
1 T cinnamon
1 t cloves
¾ t. allspice
4/3 t. mace
¾ t. pepper
2 t. salt
¾ c. butter

Mix apples and tomatoes. Add remaining ingred.,except butter, and bring gradually to a boil. Simmer 3 hours. Stir often to keep from burning. Add butter. Cool , and put 2 ½ cups of mincemeat in zip lock bags and freeze. Each bag will make one pie or 12 tarts.
