Makes 6 to 8 servings.

1 3 1/2 oz. pkg. cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix
2 c. milk
1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. Kahlua
1 T. instant coffee granules
1/2 c. hot water
1 T. granulated sugar
1 7-oz. pkg. lady fingers
1 1/2 c. whipped dessert topping or sweetened whipped cream
4 1-oz. squares semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely grated

Prepare pudding mix with milk according to package directions.
Beat cream cheese and Kahlua into hot pudding.
Cover surface with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Combine instant coffee crystal, hot water and sugar; brush over lady fingers.
Fold dessert topping (or whipped cream) into pudding mixture.
Line bottom of 8-cup trifle bowl with half of the lady fingers.
Spread half of the pudding mixture over lady fingers in bowl.
Sprinkle with half of the grated chocolate.
Repeat layers.
Cover tightly; refrigerate 4 hours or overnight to blend flavours.
