german potato salad

12 slices bacon, diced and fried until crisp (reserve 6 table spoons dripplings)
3 medium-sized onions,chopped (2 cups)
1 cup less 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 1\2 tablespoons sugar
1 1\2 teaspoons salt
1\4 teaspoons pepper
2 to 3 lbs. patatoes , cooked, peeled, and cut in 1\4-inch slices

1. heat bacon drippling in a skellet. add onions and cook until tender, stiring occasionaly. stir in vinegar, sugar, salt, and peppers; heat to boiling. mix in bacon
2. pour over patatoes slices in a serving dish and toss lightly to coat evenly. garnish with snipped parsely and paprika. serve hot
about 6 servings
