Spaghetti Sauce Seasoning Mix

- 1/2 cup onion flakes
- 1/2 cup parsley flakes
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano, crumbled
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon dried basil, crumbled
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic flakes
- 4 large bay leaves, crumbled fine
 Place all ingredients in a 1 pint jar, cover tightly and shake well to mix. Store in a cool, dark, dry place for up to 2 months.   TO MAKE SPAGHETTI SAUCE: In a medium size heavy saucepan over moderate heat, mix together 2 cans (28 oz each) low sodium tomatoes, drained and chopped, 1 can (6 oz) low sodium tomato paste and 1 cup water; stir in 1/2 cup Spaghetti sauce seasoning. Mix. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spoon over spaghetti or other pasta   (NOTE: For spaghetti sauce with meat, brown 1 lb very lean ground beef and drain off any fat before adding the other ingredients and proceeding as directed)
