Fried Mozzarella Sticks

- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup seasoned Italian bread crumbs
- 1 pound Mozzarella cheese, cut in sticks
- vegetable oil
- marinara or pizza sauce
- ranch salad dressing
Place the beaten egg in a shallow dish. Place the flour in another shallow dish. Place the bread crumbs in a third shallow dish. Dip the cheese pieces first in the egg, coating them completely and letting any excess drip off. Roll the cheese in the flour and shake off any excess. Dip them again in the egg and let excess drip off. Finally, roll them in the bread crumbs, pressing the crumbs so they adhere. Place the cheese sticks on a wax paper lined plate and refrigerate for 1 hour. Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep saucepan to 375 degrees F. Add the cheese sticks to the hot oil in batches. Turn as needed until they are golden brown. Remove the cheese sticks from the oil with a slotted spoon and let drain on paper toweling. Serve hot with pasta sauce or ranch dressing, for dipping.
