Cranberry Liqueur

6 cups (1.5 L) fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
4 cups (1 L) vodka
3 cups (750 ml) sugar
1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a large jar and let sit at room temperature
for 3 to 4 weeks, shaking the jar every 4 or 5 days. Strain and pour
into bottles. Makes about 4 cups (1 L).
