  • 1 1/2 pound sliced lean bacon
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Place the bacon in a single layer in a shallow roasting pan or rimmed baking sheet.

Sprinkle the pepper evenly over the bacon slices. Place the pan in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes or until the bacon is crisp and browned.

Remove the bacon from the pan and place on paper toweling to drain. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator. The bacon can also be frozen after baking and cooling.
