1 quart canned peaches for 5 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup sugar
Place in a saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Pour the peaches and about 1/3 cup of the juice into a sprayed 9 inch baking pan.
Topping:
1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cups sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
Beat together and pour over peaches. Pour batter over peach.
Melt 1 stick of butter and drizzle it over the batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.
