18 small broccoli or asparagus spears
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 cup oil
6 slices Swiss or Jarlsberg cheese
1 tbsp butter
1/3 cup vermouth

Cook broccoli in boiling water for 5 minutes; drain and rinse with cold water.

Meanwhile, pound chicken to 1/4 to 1/8 inch thickness. Combine seasonings; sprinkle over both sides of chicken and saute in oil until lightly browned on both sides. Drain off fat.

In the same skillet, arrange 3 pieces of chicken and then place 3 spears broccoli on each. Top with a slice of cheese. Add butter and vermouth. Cover and cook over high heat until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes. Place on a warm platter to keep hot. Repeat with remaining chicken in drippings. Serves 6
