1 cup quick cooking rice
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 (10 oz) can condensed consommé
1 (11 oz) pkg frozen mixed vegetables
1 tbsp chopped onion
2 tbsp water
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp savory
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 chicken, cut into serving pieces
Bring firs 5 ingredients to a boil; pour into a covered casserole dish. Saute chicken pieces in hot oil about 10 minutes; place on rice mixture. Break up mixed vegetables and place around chicken. Sprinkle with lemon juice and seasonings; cover. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes.
