1 1/2 lbs stew meat
4-5 medium potatoes, pared, thinly sliced
4 carrots, pared and chunked
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
3/4 cup beef broth or bouillon
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp bacon bits
1/4 cup maple syrup
4 cups water
1 (15 oz) can peas with liquid

Place meat on bottom of crock pot. Cover with vegetables. In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients except peas and cook until bubbly. Remove from heat and pour into crock pot. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour; turn on LOW and cook 7-8 hours. Add peas with liquid just before serving.
