3 cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
6 tbsp butter
1 (10 oz) pkg peanut butter chips
1 (7 oz) jar marshmallow creme
1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped peanuts or walnuts
1 tsp vanilla extract
Line a 13x9 inch baking pan with foil, extending over the edges of the pan. Butter the foil and set aside. Butter the sides of a heavy saucepan. Combine first 3 ingredients in saucepan and cook over medium-high heat to boiling; stirring constantly with a wood spoon to dissolve sugar. Continue to boil for 5-7 mnutes or until it reaches 236 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in remaining ingredients. Stir until well blended and chips are melted. Pour into prepared pan and cool at room temperature. Chill several hours or until firm. When firm, lift candy out of pan and cut into squares. Store, tightly covered, in the refrigerator. Makes about 3 pounds.
