2 cups pureed tomatoes
4 tbsp butter
2 small onions, chopped fine
1 clove garlic, minced 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cu Marsala
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 lb vermicelli
1 cup grated parmesan or Romano cheese

Meatballs
1/2 lb ground chuck
1 tbsp minced parsley
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt, garlic and pepper, to taste
3 tbsp oil

In a skillet, melt half butter; cook onion until soft. Add next 4 ingredients; add salt and pepper, to taste; boil for 5 minutes. Add Marsala and oregano; cook another 5 minutes. Set aside.

Meatballs: Combine ingredients, except oil in a bowl; mix with your hands and form into 12 meatballs. Brown on all sides in oil. Do not overcook as they will cook further in sauce.

Add meatballs to sauce; keep warm. Cook pasta until al dente; drain; return to pot which it was cooked. Add remaining butter; toss well. Add several large spoonfuls of tomato sauce; mix well. Pour sauce and meatballs over all and serve with grated cheese. Serves 4
