- 1 gallon apple cider
- 28 ounces 7-up lemon-lime soda
- 24 whole cloves
- 6 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 cup cinnamon red hot candies
Combine the apple cider, soda, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon sticks in a Dutch oven or other large pan. Heat over medium heat until just simmering. Add the cinnamon candies and stir constantly until they melt. Serve the wassail hot in heatproof mugs with additional cinnamon sticks (if desired). It can be kept warm in a crock pot or on the stovetop on low temperature.
