- 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 envelope (0.7 ounce size) dry Italian salad dressing mix
- 1 can (10.75 ounce size) golden mushroom soup (not cream soup)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine or sherry
- 1 tub (8 ounce size) soft cream cheese
- hot cooked angel hair pasta
- snipped fresh chives, optional
Place the chicken in the crock pot. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the salad dressing mix and stir well. Stir in the mushroom soup, white wine, and cream cheese. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the cream cheese melts. Pour the mixture over the chicken in the crock pot. Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4 hours or until the chicken is cooked. Serve the chicken and sauce over pasta or rice. Sprinkle with fresh snipped chives before serving.
