Serves/Makes: 12
Ready in: > 5 hrs
- 6 hard-boiled eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Liquid Smoke
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Peel the shells from the hard-boiled eggs and rinse them to remove any small fragments left. Place the eggs in a pint-sized jar. Combine the water, soy sauce, Liquid Smoke, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved. Pour the liquid smoke mixture over the eggs in the jar. Cover the jar tightly and refrigerate for 2 days. Turn the jar 2-3 times a day to coat the eggs in the smokey mixture. When ready to eat, remove the eggs from the jar and slice thinly. Serve on crackers or cocktail bread.
