This is actually an old Native American recipe.

2 cups flour
2 cups corn meal
Salt
Mama adds a bit of baking soda

Stir together. Add water slowly until mixture is the consistency to drop by the spoonful into hot grease. Fry on both sides until done. Drain on paper towels or cloth.

Note: This is most likely an old “squaw bread” or Indian bread recipe.
