Curried Tartar Sauce

It's a copycat recipe of sorts, but the cafe in a little town in central Texas is now defunct. I forget what it was called... Anyway, the secret spice was guessed, not shared, and it's an ingredient that makes all the difference. (They told me I'd guessed curry correctly, by the way.)

1 cup mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. minced pickles
1 Tbsp. minced onion
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 – 2 tsps. Curry powder
1/2 tsp. sugar or other sweetener

Blend together and let set awhile before serving. Serve chilled with seafood.
