The topping for this is a traditional German Streusel topping like you'd find on a German or Dutch apple pie. It makes for a great topping for crumbles and is oh so easy.

Category: Desserts & Puddings
Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

Pie Filling for Two Pies - your choice of flavor, homemade or from a can (Apple and Cherry are probably most common, but don't be afraid to try something different)

Pour pie filling into a buttered (or spray with PAM) 9 X 13 baking dish. Top with topping. Bake on 350 degrees F for 45 - 55 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp on top. Let set about ten minutes before serving. Serve warm, top with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Topping:
2 cups white sugar
2 cups white flour
2 sticks softened butter (room temperature is best)

1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Scant pinch of salt

Mix together well, using your hands to evenly distribute the butter. Sprinkle lightly and evenly over fruit and bake as directed.
