Prep Time: Cook Time: Total Time:
Serves/Makes: 4 drinks
Difficulty Level: 1
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 c + 2T chocolate syrup
Finely chopped mexican or bittersweet chocolate (I use Nestle Abuelita discs)
1 c white tequila
1/2 c chocolate liqueur (I use Godiva)
1/2 c heavy cream
1/3 c orange liqueur (I use Grand Marnier)
1 t almond extract
1 1/4 t ground cinnamon
Directions:
To rim glasses: Put 2 T of the chocolate syrup on a desert plate and the finely chopped chocolate on another desert plate. Dip the margarita glasses in the chocolat syrup turning to coat rim generously. Move to other plate and turn glass around in chocolate coating well.
For Margarita: Combine the other 1/2 c of chocolate syrup, tequila, chocolate liqueur, heavy cream, orange liqueur, almond extract, and cinnamon in pitcher. Mix well stirring from the bottom as the chocolate syrup is heavier than the other liquids and tends to sink. Fill cocktail shaker with ice cubes and fill 2/3 full with margarita mixture. Shake a full 30 seconds. Pour into prepared glasses. Each shaker full should fill 2 glasses.
Cooks Notes: When I first tasted this I thought I had gone to heaven. Its like having your desert before dinner, which as my husbands says is one of the perks of being an adult. We actually had this after our Sunday dinner in place of desert. What a way to watch a Bears Game.
