Toast 1C almonds in the frying pan
Cool, spin in food processer with 1C brown sugar, 2t cinnamon, 1t nutmeg, 4t candied ginger
Slice apples in half, core
Dip cut side in egg whites
Dip gooey side in almond mixture
Brown, nut side down, in butter in frying pan about 2 min
Flip over, skin side down, simmer in juice (cherry was nice, but cider or prune would work) until tender.
