- 1 1/2 pound ground beef (extra lean)
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 3 tablespoons finely minced onion
- 1 cup milk
- salt and pepper, to taste
***Sauce***
- 2 cups ketchup
- 6 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Combine the ground beef, oats, onion, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix gently but thoroughly. Form the meat into 1/4-pound patties. Place the patties in a single layer in a baking dish. Combine the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, and water in a bowl. Mix until the sugar dissolves. Pour the sauce evenly over the burger patties. Place the burgers in the oven and bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour uncovered, or until the burgers are cooked through. Serve the burgers on hamburger buns with any desired condiments and toppings.
