Spicy Grilled Cheese Burgers

3 pounds ground chuck
2 tablespoons seeded, chopped jalapeno peppers
1/2 TBSP chili powder
1/2 TBSP cumin
6 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, cubed
12 tomato slices
12 toasted hamburger buns

In a medium bowl, combine ground chuck, peppers and chili powder, mixing lightly and thoroughly. Shape into twelve 1/2 inch patties. Placing cubes of cheese in the center when forming patties. Place on grill over medium coals or heat. Grill uncovered 14-16 minutes until no longer pink, turning once. Place on buns with a tomato slice.
