Baked Squash

- 2 1/2 pounds yellow squash, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup cornbread crumbs
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
Place the squash in a saucepan and cover with water. Cook until just tender over medium-high heat; drain. Combine squash and remaining ingredients, except cheese. Place in a greased baking dish and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes.
