Blitzkuchen (German for Coffee Cake)

3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1-cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp.salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 egg

1.preheat oven to 350
2.grease a 9 inch round cake pan
3-dot-combine the 3 tbsp sugar with the cinnamon; set aside
4.Place all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
5.stir
6.make a well
7.Beat together the melted butter, milk and the egg.
8.pour the egg mixture into the well.
9.stir only until the dry ingredients are moistened
10.pour batter into the cake pan
11.Sprinkle the sugar/cinnamon mixture evenly over the top of the cake.
12.place in oven
13.set the timer for 20 minutes
14.Check for doneness-toothpick in center comes out clean
15.cut into wedges.
16.serve
