ICE BOX SLAW

1 head cabbage, shredded
1 green pepper, chopped
2 medium sweet onions, chopped
1 carrot grated (for color)
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup salad oil
1 cup vinegar
2 teaspoons celery seed
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon salt

Combine cabbage, green pepper and oinion in a large bowl. In a saucepan, combine all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Pour sauce over cabbage miture. Do not stir. Refrigerate at least 12 hours. Serves 8-10
