POPPY SEED CAKE

1 and 1/4 cup vegetable Oil
2 and 1/3 Sugar
3 eggs
1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 and 1/2 tsp poppy seed
1 and 1/2 tsp almond extract
1 and 1/2 tsp butter flavoring
3 cups all purpose flour
1 and 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 and 1/2 cup buttermilk

Beat together oil and sugar. Add eggs, poppy seeds and flavorings.
Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk. Pour into tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour. Cool in pan for 10 mins. Remove and cool completely (glaze with following)

Glaze:
3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup orange juice, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp almond extract, 1/2 tsp butter flavoring. Bring all ingredients to a rolling boil and cook for 2 minutes. Pour over cake and let set until cool.

This cake is better the next day.
