CRAB SUPREME

2 (13 ounce) cans crab or 1 pound fresh
1 cup celery
1 medium onion
1/4 cup green pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
salt & pepper to taste
8 slices bread, cubed
4 eggs, beaten
3 cups milk
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Cook celery in small amount of water about 5 minutes. Mix onion, celery, & mayonnaise together. Fold in crab.
Put 1/2 of the cubed bread (4 slices) in lightly buttered casserole. Spoon crab mixture on top. Top with remaining bread. Beat milk and egg, salt and pepper together and pour over bread. Spoon soup over top. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Add cheese the last 10 to 15 minutes of baking.
