Pumpkin Muffins

1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice
1 Tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder

1 Cup pumpkin
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs, beaten
1 granny smith apple, finely chopped

3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl; make a well in the center. Combine pumpkin, butter and eggs; add to dry ingredients, stirring until moistened. Fold in chopped apple. Spoon into greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Combine sugar and spice; sprinkle over tops. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
