1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Mix first 3 ingredients well; blend in dry ingredients. Roll into balls and roll balls in the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Bake at 400F for 8 minutes or until golden.
