Grilled Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and Apples

3 Granny Smith apples, peeled and shredded
2 cups drained sauerkraut
1/2 tsp minced fresh sage leaves
2 lbs bratwurst

Combine apples, sauerkraut, sage in disposable roasting pan. Put bratwurst in single layer over apple mixture and wrap roasting pan tightly with foil. Place roasting pan in center of grill, cover grill, and cook 15 minutes. Move pan to one side of grill and carefully remove foil cover. Using tongs, place sausages on grate directly over coals. Grill brats, uncovered, turning every 1 to 2 minutes, until browned.
