Savory Chicken Breasts with Apples

1 large onion, diced
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
3 Tbsp apple cider
1 small bunch scallion, sliced
2 Tbsp butter
salt
white pepper
3 halved boneless, skinless whole chicken
breast
4 sliced medium apples
1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a medium frying pan, saute te onion and scallions in butter until soft
Grease a baking dish and place the apple slices on the bottom
Spread the onion scallion mixture on top of the apples
Salt and pepper the chicken breasts and place on top of the onion mixture
In a small bowl, mix the cheese with the bread crumbs
Sprinkle over the chicken and drizzle the cider over the top
Bake for 35 minutes or until chicken is cooked
