Asparagus and Pea Casserole

1 c. asparagus, canned
1 c. cream of chicken soup
1 c. peas, canned
1 c. water chestnuts, sliced
1/2 c. butter
4 slices bread
1 c. grated cheddar cheese

Place drained asparagus in ablong baking dish. Mix together peas, chestnuts and soup, then pour over asparagus. Sprinkle cheese on top. Cut bread in four slices each. Dip bread in melted butter and arrange over cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Excellent for company
